Robotics is the collective name for the interdisciplinary branch of computer science and engineering that concern the design, construction, operation, and use of robots. In this Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), titled summer school in robotics, we focus on developing and implementing mobile robots using the Robot Operating System (ROS). The summer school is divided into two parts, starting with an introductory week (online) that introduces the basic functionalities and concepts behind ROS. The remaining weeks (on-site) focus on the practical development of autonomous mobile robots by implementing methods and techniques commonly used to develop autonomous systems. Through project work in group form, you will collaborate to develop your autonomous mobile robots, which ultimately will be tested in a robot competition during the last week of summer school.
Academic Program
The academic program of this summer school is roughly outlined as follows:
Accommodation
Örebro University provides accommodation located directly on campus, the cost depends on the type of accommodation selected by the student. You will live close to nature yet have shops, restaurants, and other services close by. The city center is a 15-minute bus or bike ride away.
Living and studying in Sweden: If you are curious about what day-to-day life is like as an international student living and studying in Sweden during the prime of the Swedish summer, we highly recommend these short video blogs created by one of our previous summer school students (Gaëtan).
Information
Pre-requisites: 45 credits in computer science (or equivalent).
